In the second panel the Fisher’s exact test p-value has been converted to the –log base 10 is plotted as a heatmap with increasing yellow intensity showing increased statistical significance. The CIS containing the Apc gene is highly significantly associated with colon tumors, while a CIS containing the Egfr gene is highly associated with the liver tumors. Actual p-values for association are provided in Additional file 1: Table S6.
